Bandon Concrete & Development Co. was created in 1995 by owners Bill and Judy Ohlsen with partner Sam Hernandez when they bought a 12 acre gravel pit, a portable batch plant and 1 old mix truck and started South Coast Concrete in 1985.

Today Bandon Concrete offers the south coast several different services including ready-mix concrete delivered by their fleet of front load trucks They also offer local deliveries of crushed rock, washed rock, sand as well as site preparation for road construction and all phases of subdivision construction. Their products have helped develop shopping centers, sidewalks, homes and public buildings - all the things that make a community.

In 1991 a local competitor from Coos Bay purchased the ready-mix plant and trucks, but after 4 years, the pull of ready mix caught the Olsens again and they saw the opportunity to form Bandon Concrete & Development Co. with their nephew Sam Hernandez. As the new business, and Bandon, grew more employees were needed. From very early on they have been blessed with some of the best, most loyal team members you could find anywhere. From the most senior people to the newest hires they have been fortunate in forming a team of can-do people who give 100% - and sometimes more.

On July 1, 2005, the company was purchased by Eugene Sand & Gravel, Inc. who has made sure to keep Bill and Judy as managers. Today, under the tutalage of Eugene Sand, Bandon Concrete continues to grow. They have adopted the mission of Eugene Sand & Gravel: To be the premier supplier of product and service in the industry.
